genAG

What is genAG and why is it important?

genAG is a unique career exploration program that inspires high school students to consider pursuing careers in agriculture and food.

As the global population grows, so too does the need for safe, nutritious food. Canada plays a significant role in feeding a growing world, and needs to develop a strong, skilled agricultural sector in order to do so.

Today, 1 in 8 jobs in Canada are in the agriculture and food sector. Career opportunities for post-millennials are diverse and plentiful.

#BEgenAG; be part of the next generation of food producers and impactful agriculture leaders!

How does genAG work?

Lightbulb

Students will work in peer groups to develop innovative marketing ideas that promote agriculture and food careers to students in their school.

Lightbulb

Groups will showcase their ideas through a marketing presentation that will include how their ideas came to be and how they would bring them to life.

Lightbulb

Presentations will be judged by agriculture and food professionals when student groups compete in their Provincial Competition.

Lightbulb

There are prizes to be won, creative ideas to be shared, and opportunities to be featured in social media!
